Ms. Pamei Genevieve Gaikanpou, BA 1st Semester (History Honours), Tamenglong College, represented the College in the State Level Symposium on the UN Theme of World Environment Day 2024, “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience” on 1st July 2024 at Imphal. She presented her paper on the UN Theme focussing on the plight of humanity due to adverse environmental degradation. She also touches upon the impact of climate change with a case study of Tamenglong district. The State Level Symposium was organised by the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Manipur.

During the Symposium, Shri Makhou Gangmei, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Economics, and Shri Ngampingngampou Gonmei, Asst. Professor, Dept. of History, accompanied her. Altogether, selected students from 26 Colleges and other Higher Education Institutes of Manipur presented their papers in the Symposium. Ms. Pamei Genevieve Gaikanpou had earlier won the College Level Symposium Competition held on June 10 before she was selected to represent the College at the State Level.
