A team of Rongmei Naga Students’ Organisation, Manipur (RNSOM), the main students’ organisation of Tamenglong District, visited Tamenglong College on 22 July 2024 and had a constructive discussion with the Principal and some Senior Staff of the College. The team was led by Shri. Daichuipou Gangmei, President, RNSOM. After the meeting, they also inspected the College campus. Before leaving, the student leaders assured that they will apprised the concerened authority to look into the various urgent needs of the College including teachers and staff for Science Stream and insufficient classrooms. They also promised that the students’ body will mobilised fund for construction one classroom for temporary arrangement to be used before the concerned authority could provide funds for constructio of more classrooms. It may be noted that since seven new departments (Sciences) have been introduced in 2021, and also since the four-year undergraduate course has been implemented as per NEP 2020 the first batch of whom are now in their 5th Semesters, the College is facing acute shortage of classrooms. Later, the student leaders of RNSOM also took stock of the progress of construction at the New Site of Tamenglong College meant for Science block.
