As India celebrates its Independence Day on 15 August 2024, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) of Tamenglong College participated in the march past parade in Tamenglong District for the first time. The NCC Unit of the College has been under the care of Smt. N. Rose Gonmei, andwere trained for the drill by Dr. S. Solomon, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Economics, Shri Ringsinrei Gonmei, Dept. of Sociology, and Shri. Poukhuanguang Gonmei, Dept. of Economics, along with officers/personnel from the Mighty 6 Assam Rifles.

The 78th Independence Day Celebration was also attended by the teachers, staff and students of Tamenglong College including Dr. Kinthuijinang Maremmei, Principal. Meanwhile, Shri Ngamtinlun Touthang, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Political Science, was selected as one of the recipients of the Credential Certificate from the district administration for his contributions towards the society in general and the College in particular.

After the Glorious Independence Day Celebration, a special luncheon was hosted by the College Administration at the College Campus to welcome the NCC Cadets and the teachers.
