Following the severe Cyclone Remal that hit the Northeastern Region of India including Manipur, Tamenglong College organised a one-day Social Service on 29 May 2024. It may be noted that the Cyclone triggered heavy rains and floods across multiple northeastern states. In Manipur, three people died and thousands were affected due to floods particularly in the valley. Tamenglong district was not an exception as it triggered heavy rains and strong winds on 27-28 May 2024. The wrath of nature destroyed hundreds of houses and a couple of bridges along the national highway connecting Imphal and Tamenglong. A tree that could not withstand the storm caused partial damaged to the administrative block of the College. This unfortunate incident necessitated the Social Service.
