Tamenglong College joined the rest of the nation in Observing Har Ghar Tiranga Celebration at the College Administration Block on 13 August 2024 (Tuesday) under the theme of India’s Independence Day 2024: “Viksit Bharat” (meaning “Developed India”). Dr. Kinthuijinang Maremmei, Principal, Tamenglong College, hoisted the national flag and led the students and staff in paying the highest respect (salute) to the Tricolour.

The simple yet meaningful program was led by Shri Namsurei Thomas Kamei, IQAC Coordinator, and Dr. Maremmei, a renowned historian in Northeast India, as resource person. Dr. Maremmei’s speech highlighted the significance and rationale behind the observation, encouraging the students to strive for excellence while keeping in mind the glorious history and symbols of this great nation, India. About 60 students and staff took part in the obaservation.

Note: This year’s Independence Day theme, “Viksit Bharat,” translates to “Developed India” symbolizing the Indian government’s vision to transform the nation into a developed country by 2047, which will also coincides with the Centenary (100 years) of its independence.
