Code of Conduct of Tamenglong College, Tamenglong
1. Principal
- To uphold and upkeep the ethos of inclusiveness in terms of imparting education in the institution.
- To protect the collective interest of different sections of the institution.
- To institute, nourish and enforce equal treatment to all stakeholders in the College.
- To uphold and maintain the essence of social justice.
- To create and maintain an unbiased, gender free atmosphere within the College.
- To maintain and promote academic activities in the College in all possible avenues
- To create an environment conducive for research oriented academic pursuits.
- To maintain peace and tranquility in the College campus.
- Assisting in planning and implementation of academic programmes.
- Safeguard the interests of teachers and other staff members of the College.
- Timely submission of information to the authorities when required.
- To follow the Government rules in the College and act as the bridge between the College and the Government.
- The Principal is expected to be transparent in maintaining financial accounts and records.
2. Teachers
- Teachers should come to the College with proper dress code.
- A minimum qualification of Master with NET/SLET, wherever applicable, is required to be a Teacher in the College.
- Every Teacher should be in the College from 9:00 AM till 4:00 PM.
- Teachers are expected to maintain professional ethics and a standard level of integrity.
- Manage his/her private affairs in a manner consistent with the dignity of the profession.
- Perform his/her duties in the form of teaching, tutorial, practical and seminar work conscientiously and with dedication.
- Respect the right and dignity of the student in expressing his/her opinion.
- Strive to meet individual needs of the students in terms of difference in aptitude and capabilities.
- Aid students to develop an understanding of our national heritage and national goals.
- Encourage students to improve their attainments at the same time contribute to community welfare.
- Make himself available to the students even beyond their class hours and help and guide them without any remuneration or reward.
- Believe in union and unity of the colleagues.
- Treat other members of the profession in the same manner as they themselves wish to be treated,
- Not undertake any other employment and commitment including private tuitions and coaching classes;
- Discharge their professional responsibilities according to the existing rules and adhere to procedure and methods consistent with their profession.
- Teachers should treat the non-teaching employees as colleagues and equal partners in a co-operative undertaking, within every educational institution.
- Work to improve education in the community and strengthen the community’s moral and intellectual life.
- Refrain from taking part in or subscribing to or assisting in any way, activities which tend to promote feeling of hatred or enmity among different communities, relations or linguistic groups but actively work for National Integration.
3. Students
- Every student shall come to the College with proper and decent dress.
- Students must come to the College with identity card.
- Students are not allowed to come to the College under the influence of intoxicants.
- Intoxicants of any form are strictly prohibited in the campus.
- Students are required to have 75% of attendance to be allowed to sit for University Semester Examinations.
- Mobile phones and electronic devices are strictly prohibited during the class hours.
- Students are expected to maintain healthy relationship amongst them.
- Students should contribute their share in preservation and conservation of natural resources and help in maintaining bio-diversity in the campus.
- Using the College properties without permission is not allowed.
- Rules of examinations are to be strictly followed.
- Any form of ragging in the campus is strictly prohibited.
